Scott Bovard joined McGrath Properties in 2016. Having more than 20 years of experience in construction and commercial real estate, Scott came on to manage, what we call, special projects. He quickly transitioned to the development team where he proved invaluable in the approval process—organizing presentations and mediating public meetings.
Around the McGrath Properties office, Scott, wears many hats, where he applies his knowledge and skill in real estate transactions, project management, architectural design and construction. On any given day, you might see Scott navigating various departments at the City of Oakland, on a construction site managing a project, showing space to a potential tenant, working with an engineer on the remediation of a ‘dirty’ site, researching the feasibility of a property acquisition, or marking up a set of plans.
Outside of his career, Scott’s greatest passions are his family—wife, Laura, and their two children, Dane and Jett—as well as participating in athletic adventures such as rock climbing (he’s climbed the faces of El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite among other notable climbs), trail running and mountain biking.
In his community, Scott has participated in numerous philanthropic and volunteer efforts to include 5 years as a Reserve Oakland Police Officer, former membership in the Oakland Rotary, fund raising for the Leukemia Society’s Team in Training, Breast Cancer Fund’s Bike Against the Odds and Tuberous Sclerosis. He is currently a member of SPUR.
